Sort of becoming a series of sketches.

Anatomical.

As an artist, there is a really great feeling you get when something that before only existed in your head now exists on paper.

Feels good.



I feel sad that I have not had time to work on my website at all the last few months. Job searching is exhausting. Luckily, I recently got offered a job at my internship. I still need to find another supplementary job, though. Once I find that and get a routine going, I am hoping I will have more time to work on my website and shirt designs.

I think there is something wrong with me. Really.

I think I have some kind of vitamin deficiency or something. I feel really exhausted all the time. And I have no motivation to do anything.

I've been taking a multi-vitamin, but I am unconvinced that it is doing anything. I don't know what to do. It is really becoming a problem.

Ahhhhhh.

New internship at The Old State is going really well. I actually got to design a site!

It's not live yet. We are working on prototyping on Monday and I think it will be launched August 7th.

They have asked me to design shirts for the company, so that is extremely exciting!

Need a new job. Either a second part-time job or (preferably) a completely new full-time job. If anybody knows of anything... let me know.

We LOOOOOVE our new place.

It feels so good to have a day off. There are soooo many things I want to accomplish this weekend though...

-Cleaning/organizing
-Go to the Farmers' Market
-Go to North Park Mall?
-Deposit moneys
-turn in job app for Starbucks
-scooter ride!
-BUY DOG FOOD
-grocery shopping!
-work on Old State shirt designs
-work on MMD shirt designs

-so many things....

Art a Day #1

I read an article about artist who took it upon themselves to create a piece of art a day in order to keep the creativity flowing. I thought this might be a good idea, so I am going to try to create some piece of art everyday, whether it is a sketch or a polished piece. So this is number one.

I will post periodically if I think it is something worth sharing.

Feedback?

I know I want to use this design of the mermaids, but I am not decided on the coloring. I like it with just the tails colored in with a paisley pattern. What do you think?

It begins.

Spring break is here!

Today and maybe tomorrow will be my only days to really enjoy the "break", I fear. And by "enjoy", I mean that these are the one two days where I can do nothing and only feel a little guilty.

One of my former co-workers did this piece on me and my screen printing for a class assignment. It turned out really well though. Here are some highlights:









I really need to get some more stuff done on the website. And figure out some sort of printing set up.

I really did not get anything done this weekend. At least, not anything I really wanted to.

I did get some new sketches done for a 4 color lithograph that I am going to start (hopefully) later today:

I need to get some sketches and layouts done for the shirt ideas I have so far. And then I need to figure out where I am going to get screens from. AND set up a light area....

I am really looking forward to spring break, but I fear that it will not really be a "break" at all because of all the things I am trying to accomplish. And I still have work, so that blows. Don't know if we are even going to make it to Austin at all :(
